Another Gospel

Another Gospel

A.What Name Do You Put on the World’s Message?

“I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ.” (Galatians 1:6,7)

  1. The voices of the world all speak the same message contrary to God’s truth

    a. New (Media, Print)

    b. Entertainment (TV, Movies, Print)

    c. Education

    d. Business

    e. Sports

    f. Government Leaders

  2. Most churches, despite personal doctrines, preach the same gospel of Jesus Christ, crucified for sin, and salvation by faith

  3. In the Bible, the world’s message is called “another gospel”

  4. All of Satan’s pulpits preach the same gospel of perversion

B. Satan Does Not Initiate, He Imitates

  1. God has an only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus. So has Satan “the son of Perdition” (2 Thessalonians 2:3

  2. There is a Holy Trinity, and an Evil Trinity (Revelation 20:10)

  3. We are the “children of God.” Satan has “the children of the wicked one” (Matthew 13:38)

  4. God works in His children “both to will and to do of His good pleasure.” Satan is “the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience.” (Ephesians 2:2)

  5. There is a “mystery of godliness” (1 Timothy 3:16). There is a “mystery of iniquity” (2 Thessalonians 2:7)

  6. God’s angels seal believers in their foreheads (Revelation 7:3). Satan’s workers mark the foreheads of his own (Revelation 13:16)

  7. “God’s spirit searches all the deep things of God” (1 Corinthians 2:10). Satan also has his “deep things” (Revelation 2:24)

  8. Jesus performed miracles. Satan too (Matthew 24:24, 2 Thessalonians 2:9)

  9. Jesus sits on throne. So does Satan (Revelation 2:13)

  10. Jesus has a Church. Satan has his “synagogue” (Revelation 2:9). Religion is always the Devil’s home

  11. Christ is the Light of the world. Satan is “transformed into an angel of light” (2 Corinthians 11:14)

  12. Jesus is the “Lion of the tribe of Judah.” Satan goes about as a “roaring lion” (1 Peter 5:8)

  13. God’s Son will rule in the Temple from Jerusalem. Satan’s son, Antichrist will rule in the Temple from Jerusalem

  14. Jesus chose apostles. Satan has his apostles (2 Corinthians 11:13)

C. And Satan Also Has a Gospel

  1. Paul does not call it another doctrine but another gospel

  2. Another doctrine is perversion of truth to sidetrack Christians

  3. This gospel is a perversion of the message of salvation to the world, whether preached by the world or from church pulpits

“Then Jesus sent the multitude away and went into the house. And His disciples came to Him, saying, “Explain to us the parable of the tares of the field.” He answered and said to them: “He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man. The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one. The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels.  Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age.  The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness,  and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.  Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father.” (Matthew 13:36-43)

“His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor (earth), and gather His wheat (believers) into the barn, but He will burn up the chaff (unbelievers) with unquenchable fire” (Matthew 3:12)

  1. Through his disciples, Satan is spreading a false gospel

    a. They are sowing in the same field (earth) at the same time believers are sowing the true gospel

    b. Tares look just like wheat but hinder the wheat

  2. Satan’s counterfeit gospel is very appealing to man’s ego (Galatians 1:11)

    a. Men want to see Sog rationally, as being like them

    b. Satan’s gospel is so logical multitudes are deceived

    c. Grace and God’s love are not logical and must be taken by faith

Paul Warns of Satan’s Gospel

“I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed.

For do I now persuade men or God? Or do I seek to please men? For if I still pleased men, I would not be a bondservant of Christ.” (Galatians 1:6-10)

  1. Satan’s Gospel was being preached as Paul was writing

  2. Satan has two other titles for his gospel (of another kind)

    a. The secular gospel of humanism, liberalism, one world

    b. The spiritual gospel of inclusion, universalism, the universal fatherhood of God and brotherhood of man, etc.

  3. God’s gospel (of the same kind) has other titles

    a. The gospel of the kingdom (Matthew)

    b. The gospel of Jesus Christ (Mark, Acts)

    c. The gospel of the grace of God (Acts)

    d. The gospel of His Son (Acts)

    e. The gospel of God (Romans)

    f. The gospel of the glory of Christ (2 Corinthians)

    g. The gospel of your salvation (Galatians)

    h. The gospel of peace (Ephesians)

    i. The everlasting gospel (Romans, Revelation)

  4. Paul taught that if a man, or an angel from heaven, came preaching any other gospel, let him be sent to Hell

  5. Satan’s gospel began in Eden, “You can be good without God” (2 Corinthians 11:4)

  6. Warn others but learn to live with it. Don’t waste time trying to remove the tares. Jesus and His elect Angels will handle it

Much of Satan’s Gospel Parallel’s Christ’s

  1. If you are going to preach a false gospel, make it as much like the genuine as possible (ex. counterfeit money)

  2. The gospel of Satan is not a message of revolution or anarchy

    a. It does not preach strife and war, but peace and unity

    1. Satan sponsors war but covers this evil with human good

    2. Liberalism always covers the evil it says it opposes

    b. It does not try to set mothers against daughters or fathers against sons (though Satan is behind this too)

    c. It appeals to the fraternal spirit: mankind is one brotherhood

    d. It does not try to drag man down but improve and uplift him

    e. It pushes education and appeals to “the best within all of us”

  3. The goal is to make this world such a comfortable, caring place Christ’s absence will not be felt and God will not be needed

    a. It endeavors to occupy man so much with this world that he has no time to think of the world to come

    b. It pushes self-sacrifice, loving everyone and giving. It pushes us to live for the good of others and be generous to all

    c. It appeals to the carnal mind. It is popular with the masses. It ignores that man by nature is fallen, separated from God’s life, dead in sins and ignores man’s only hope, the new birth

What is the Message of Satan’s Gospel?

  1. There is a doctrine of Satan to believers. It is spirituality by human works, without the Holy Spirit. Always working but never arriving (Galatians 3:3)

  2. But the gospel of Satan teaches the world salvation by works

    a. Its message is justification before God by human merits

    b. Its message is “Be good and do good” (Romans 3:20)

  3. His gospel announces salvation by character

    a. It reverses the order of God’s Word

    b. Character does not precede or produce salvation

    c. Character comes from and is the fruit of salvation

  4. This gospel has many fronts preaching the message

    a. Temperance Leagues, Reform Movements, Progressive Agendas, Christian Socialist Leagues, Ethical Culture Societies, Peace Congresses

    b. Social purity is substituted for regeneration

    c. Politics and philosophy is substituted for doctrine and godliness

  5. The improvement of the old man is considered more practical then the creation of a new man

  6. One central message is that mankind can achieve world peace apart from the return and rulership of Jesus Christ

Twisting “The Way” Into the Wrong Way

“There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.” (Proverbs 14:12)

  1. This “way” which ends in “death” is Satan’s gospel

  2. It “seems” right

    a. It appeals to people’s senses, intelligence, and ego

    b. The false ministers even use scripture to support their lies

  3. It does not deny the foundational Christian truths, rather it acknowledges them, but gives false interpretations.

  4. These ministers never say not to believe in a personal God

    a. They take God’s existence for granted but give false descriptions of His character

    b. Jesus told the Pharisees their father was the devil

    c. They say that God is the spiritual Father of all men when scripture tells us sinners are children of Satan and wrath (John 1:12, Galatians 3:26)

  5. They say God is too merciful to ever send any person to Hell. God said, “And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire” (Revelation 20:15)

  6. Satan’s ministers would never ignore the Lord Jesus

    a. Their gospel teaches Jesus is the best man that ever lived

    b. Jesus’ miracles of compassion and mercy are taught as is the perfection of His character and greatness of His teaching

    c. Jesus’ life is magnified, but death is ignored

    1. The atoning work of the cross is never mentioned

    2. His resurrection from the grave is taught as superstition

    3. It is a bloodless gospel and a crossless Christ

    4. He is not taught as “God come in flesh but as the Ideal Man”

    d. If His resurrection is taught, it has reconciled all men to God and faith is not necessary on our part

    1. This is universalism or inclusion-everyone has been saved

    2. Therefore, punishment and Hell are not real, nor is Satan

How Do You Recognize Satan’s Ministers?

  1. The apostles of Satan are not organized crime leaders, drug dealers, and human traffickers

  2. Many are elected government officials and ordained ministers who have turned from the truth. Through demons, deceived ministers preach political philosophy and tell inspiring stories

  3. Satan’s ministers no longer present fundamentals of the Faith

    a. Instead of showing the enormity of sin and its eternal punishment, they minimize it

    b. They say sin is merely ignorance of good or the absence of it

    c. Instead of warning people to “flee from the wrath to come” they teach:

    1. God is too loving and merciful to send wrath or His own creatures to everlasting torture and separation from Him

    2. Eternal torment, Hell, the Lake of Fire, and Satan cannot exist

    d. These ministers also betray the people by teaching social and economic issues rather than God’s Word

  4. They do not say “without shedding of blood there is no remission” (Romans 10:3)

    a. They teach Christ as our great Example and preach to their people that salvation comes by “following in His steps”

  5. Their message sounds sincere and appears noble (2 Corinthians 11:13-15)

Paul Teaches Satan’s Gospel Produces Blindness

“Even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded (by the other gospel), who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them” (2 Corinthians 4:3-4)

  1. Satan blinds unbelieving minds by substituting his own gospel

  2. He is rightfully called, “the Devil, Satan who deceives the whole world” (Revelation 12:9)

Jesus Contrasts the Two Gospels, The True and Counterfeit

  1. The true gospel leads to eternal life and Heaven

  2. The other gospel leads to death, eternal separation from God in Hell (Matthew 7:13,14,22,23)
